Rotating Equipment Mechanic

Description: Roska is seeking a dedicated and skilled Rotating Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. This role involves ensuring the optimal operation of compressors, pumps, and other rotating equipment essential to our oil and gas operations. The successful candidate will embody Roska’s CORE Values and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Health and Safety: Take a proactive approach to plant health and safety, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Operational Duties: Operate and monitor compressors, pumps, and other rotating equipment, ensuring they run efficiently and safely.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on rotating equipment. Perform oil sampling as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to callouts and handle emergency situations such as equipment failures or leaks.
  • Coordination: Work collaboratively with operational staff, engineers, and maintenance teams for seamless equipment operation. Assist in equipment commissioning and decommissioning.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and incidents.
  • Optimization: Assist in optimizing equipment performance by adjusting settings and implementing best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Must pass pre-hire drug and alcohol screening.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Abstract.
  • Journeyman or Apprentice trade certification.
  • Experience with pumps, generators, and compressors is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written English proficiency.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Competencies:
  • Experience with pumps, generators, and/or compressors.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret process flow drawings, equipment lists, and operating specifications.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to conducting all work in a safe and orderly manner.
Additional Information:
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Teamwork and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
  • Work will be conducted in various industrial settings, including factories and power plants.
