4th Class Power Engineer

Slave Lake, AB

Our client is in search of a Steam Plant Operator in northeastern Alberta. This is a 7/7 schedule, 12 hr shift, days and nights. Camp accomodations provided. The successful candidate will be required to operate, monitor, and maintain steam-generating equipment, boilers,  generators, and associated systems to ensure the safe and efficient production of steam and power.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor boilers, turbines, pumps, generators, and auxiliary equipment. 
  • Inspect equipment, gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure proper operation. 
  • Maintain operating logs, reports, and regulatory records. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with repairs and troubleshooting. 
  • Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and emergency situations. 
  • Conduct water quality testing and chemical treatment of boiler systems. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operating procedures. 

Qualifications
  • Experience in a power generation, industrial, or utility plant environment; oil and gas field experience preferred, heavy oil experience an asset
  • Minimum 4th class power engineer license/certification required 
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and instrumentation diagrams
  • Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and safety skills.
