Our customer, a major oil and gas producer, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer – EIM
for a 1 year contract with possibility of extension. This is a Calgary based position working a Monday-Friday schedule. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be to work with various stakeholders to ensure Critical Technical documents are complete (all related documents), accurate, searchable, and accessible to all site users.
Role Requirements:
• Understanding of Technical and Vendor Documentation lifecycle from Design, Issued for Construction, Redlines, QA/QC, and as-building final Document Deliverables to go into the McLaren Document Management System (Docs available to Site Users). This includes creation of Project Document/Drawing List at start of a Project to include all related documents (for all Disciplines impacted), and Authentication requirements
• Understanding of the ENGWO/MOC process workflow, and integration with Maximo
• Detail Focused, investigative personality. Require creativity and perseverance to make connections when looking through various sources of information including network drives, and Iron Mountain storage (hard-copy documents)
• Will work closely with other Discipline Engineering Focals on EIM team as most projects have multi-discipline documents
• Good communicator, must be able to work with multiple departments and stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Document Control
• Competent in Excel to audit and compare datasets. Competency in Access or other Database experience an asset
• Ability to learn new software and to provide DEMOs (ie. McLaren, Smart Review, TruView)
• APEGA Professional Engineer (Mechanical) with 10-15 years experience. Preferred to have experience working with Owner Project teams and EPC teams for reviewing Legacy Projects. Oilsands and Field experience an asset
