Pipeline Operator - Coverage

Sturgeon County, Alberta
Our client, a major oil and gas transportation company is currently seeking a Pipeline Operator to join their busy Operations team in the Sturgeon County, Alberta area. The Pipeline operator will provide coverage and assist in operating pipeline assets including, but not limited to, valve manifolds, pig launchers and receivers, compressor stations, dehydration units, amine process plants, and control and pump stations.  This is a coverage role that will go from April-September 2025.  The shift is a 4/3, 10 hours a day with on call responsibilities.  Candidates need to reside within 60 kms of Sturgeon County.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Take samples and perform routine grind outs to measure sediment and water content and determine quality.
  • Perform tank gauging to measure tank contents and account for product stored and product moved into and out of tanks.
  • Hand gauging field tanks accurately.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance tasks.
  • Interpret the plant’s piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and control schematics.
  • Understand liquid measurement principles, such as (flow metering and water cut).
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Production Field/Pipeline Operator
  • 5 years previous related oil, industrial or pipeline experience
  • Must have valid safety tickets (H2S, First Aid)
  • A disciplined work ethic and ability to take initiative
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working in both a team and individual environment
  • Valid class 5 license (NO GDL)
  • Capable of passing pre-hire Drug and Alcohol screening.
