Roska DBO Inc. is currently seeking experienced Field Operator for an oil and gas client in the Swan Hills, Alberta area. Our client is a private oil and gas exploration and production company focused on light oil opportunities and is led by a team of experienced industry professionals with extensive operational expertise.
Reporting to the Shift Lead Operator and Production Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of facilities and wells.

Based in Grande Prairie, Alberta, with a network of locations, Roska serves all of western and northern Canada, plus selected U.S. and international markets, with a primary focus on the Alberta/ B.C. region.
Our Staffing Services group works with customers across western Canada to recruit qualified candidates for assignments ranging from emergency callouts to longer term contingent workforce solutions. Our customers rely on us for operational staff, including plant/field operators, turnaround staff, administration and camp support staff.
In addition to fulfilling the operating needs of oil and gas producing, midstream and pipeline companies, Roska operates, designs and builds well-site facilities, rents equipment and provides production testing and flowback services using a company-owned well testing fleet. Reporting to the Shift Lead Operator and Production Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of facilities and wells.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with day-to-day operations of oil and gas facilities and wells.
- Perform pigging, well testing, fluid level shots, troubleshooting, and other field operating duties.
- Monitor and optimize production while minimizing equipment downtime.
- Perform routine and minor maintenance as required.
- Ensure equipment, facilities, and wells are properly maintained and operating safely.
- Monitor and report production and equipment performance.
- Complete accurate daily equipment logs, production readings, records, and electronic reporting.
- Issue work permits and supervise work activities as required.
- Follow all HSE standards, company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Maintain a strong focus on safe work practices and environmental compliance.
- Oil facility operations, including wells, storage facilities, satellites, and batteries.
- Waterflood systems, including injection and source wells.
- Pipeline gathering systems, including pigging procedures and operations.
- Artificial lift systems, including pump jacks, casing compression, and submersible pumps.
- Production monitoring systems, including SCADA.
- Production reporting systems, including ProdView.
- Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
- Issuing work permits and supervising work activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an operations team.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
