Roska DBO Inc. is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to be based out of our Grande Prairie office. This vital role will provide leadership and administration for the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Program for multiple locations and with various disciplines for Roska DBO’s dynamic and growing organization. We are looking for a motivated individual who cares about supporting our staff and managers to make safety a core part of daily activities.
This position requires you to be local to the Grande Prairie Area or willing to relocate. Some travel is expected due to a field component as well as remote work locations and post incident needs. The successful candidate will conduct all activities in a manner that supports Roska's CORE Values.
Anticipated responsibilities:
Day-to-day coordination of Roska’s HSE Program and Energy Safety Canada COR framework
Support and work collaboratively with Roska leadership and managers to promote a positive, practical, and behaviour-based safety culture that aligns with Roska’s mission, vision and values
Support HSE program reviews, updates, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide leadership to maintain and support HSE systems including WorkHub, ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta, and related customer compliance platforms
Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, regulatory reporting, and trend analysis
Coordinate HSE statistics, dashboards, reporting, and audit readiness activities
Provide field-facing HSE support through site visits, inspections, FLHAs, tailgates, kickoff meetings, and operational engagement
Support emergency response planning, drills, and incident response activities
Coordinate HSE communications including bulletins, safety meetings, training, and awareness initiatives
Support competency assessments, training coordination, and worker compliance tracking
Support hazard identification, inspections, corrective action follow-up, and continuous improvement activities
Skills required:
Experience supporting field operations and operational personnel in dynamic work environments
Experience with COR programs, audits, and regulatory compliance requirements
Understanding of HSE compliance requirements and administration processes for regulatory agencies relevant to Roska DBO (e.g., WCB, OHS, Worksafe BC, AER, etc.)
Experience with HSE systems and digital compliance platforms such as WorkHub, ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta, or similar systems
Leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor other personnel
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work activities and function within tight time schedules
Be competent in HSE statistical reporting and management dashboards.
Be competent in incident reporting and investigation process
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, listening and presentation skills
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of industry experience relevant to Roska DBO’s business
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience relevant to this HSE Coordinator position.
Demonstrated commitment to HSE behavior-based principles in previous roles
Demonstrated experience working positively with field and operational staff
Education/Certification Required:
NCSO designation or equivalent training with industry experience
Relevant Safety Professional designation or recognized industry certification is an asset
Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG
Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
High School Diploma or GED required and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
