Welder - Journeyman or Experienced Apprentice (CWB/Structural)
Grande Prairie, AlbertaRoska DBO Inc. is looking for a Journeyman or Experienced Apprentice Welder (CWB/Structural) to join our Maintenance team. This is a full-time, shop-based position supporting fabrication and structural repairs for process equipment.
This role is ideal for a motivated, safety-focused tradesperson who takes pride in quality work and can work effectively in a team environment.
Expected schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with flexibility to adjust hours as required to meet operational needs.
This position requires you to be local to the Grande Prairie area.
Qualifications:
• Journeyman Welder or Apprentice with relevant welding and fabrication experience
• Valid CWB certification (or working toward certification)
• Structural and fabrication experience required
• Oil & Gas maintenance experience is a strong asset
• Strong problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude
• Able to communicate effectively in a safety-sensitive environment
• Must pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
Responsibilities:
• Perform welding and fabrication work in the shop
• Support maintenance and repair of process and structural equipment
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures
• Inspect welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
• Maintain welding equipment and tools
• Complete required documentation and follow all safety procedures
• Support the Maintenance Coordinator with fabrication and repair needs
Competencies:
• Working knowledge of GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and MCAW processes
• Experience with fabrication tools (grinders, drill press, shears, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and quality of work
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently
• Works well in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Able to manage priorities in a fast-paced shop environment
