Turnaround Scheduler

Ft.McMurray, AB
Our customer, a major oil and gas producer, is looking for a contract Turnaround Scheduler for a 7-8 month term with the possibility of extension. This is a camp based position out of Ft.McMurray with flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary. It is a 4/3 schedule; 10 hr shifts to begin and various shifts as business needs upon TA in September.  



Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Scheduling, with at least four (4) years specifically focused on Turnaround scheduling
  • Turnaround/shutdown experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery sectors
  • Computer skills should include Maximo or equivalent CMMS, SPR, Excel and other tools in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A Mechanical Engineering diploma/degree, or a Red Seal trade certificate, or a Mechanical Technologist qualification with demonstrated expertise in mechanical trade, particularly in a maintenance planning role, is required
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, including materials, welding, fabrication, and installation. 
  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, datasheets, Equipment layout, etc
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, effective time management, and excellent communication abilities
  • Demonstrate managing competing priorities and timelines, particularly during execution phase of the turnarounds.
  • Be prepared to work extended work shift, day/night shift as required
  • Prepare to take over partially completed work packages from another planner and complete them during the shift
