Apprentice Mechanic

A major oil and gas company is seeking a talented Apprentice Mechanic to join their high-energy maintenance team in the Grande Prairie area. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of compressors, pumps, and any other mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities:
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures diligently, maintaining a proactive approach to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with industry standards.
  • Operational Duties: Masterfully operate and monitor compressors, pumps, and other mechanical systems, ensuring top-notch performance and safety.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Dive into routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs. Conduct oil sampling and other preventive tasks to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to callouts and manage emergency situations, including equipment failures and leaks, as they arise.
  • Coordination: Team up with operational staff, engineers, and maintenance crews for seamless equipment operation.
  • Documentation: Keep meticulous records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and incidents to ensure everything stays on track.
  • Optimization: Drive equipment performance to new heights by fine-tuning settings and applying best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Successfully pass pre-hire drug and alcohol screening.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract.
  • Journeyman or Apprentice trade certification is a must.
  • Experience with pumps, generators, and compressors? You’re ahead of the game!
  • Mechanical wizardry and sharp problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry? That’s a bonus!
  • Stellar interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Competencies:
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems relevant to the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong analytical abilities for diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting process flow diagrams and technical specifications.
  • An eye for detail and a dedication to maintaining safety and order.
