Materials Planner

Fort McMurray, AB
Our customer, a major oil and gas company, is currently looking for a Materials Planner for their operations in the Ft. McMurray area. The work schedule is 14 days on and 14 days off, working day shifts. 

Key Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring on time delivery of materials in accordance with contract terms and conditions, including, but not limited to:

• Runs and maintains an efficient and successful inventory management.
• Maintains integrity of the physical inventory by location.
• Responsible for year-end physical inventory counts as well as daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts.
• Develops and maintain procedures to identify Min/Max reorder quantities.
• Develops and maintains processes to identify time sensitive items and ensure availability.
• Develops process for automatic re-stock of high use items.
• Maintains records/spreadsheets for repairs and plan for future requirements based on orders, production schedules and forecasts.
• Implements auditing process for accuracy of data entry and cost.
• Provide updates for material status and open purchase orders, including expediting, tracking and returns.
• Coordinates scheduling for orders based on material lead times and arrival dates.
• Provides status updates and follow-up to internal client groups.
• Maintains records/spreadsheets for repairs and plan for future requirements based on orders, production schedules and forecasts.
• Works closely with supply chain Buyers & operations personnel to prepare, execute and follow material orders and deliveries. Helps to maintain inventory traceability and accuracy.
• Support daily warehouse activities including material reservations, material requests and issuance, shipping & receiving
• Physically capable of lifting materials and product up to 50 pounds.
• Operate motor vehicles, forklifts, and powered equipment.

Qualifications:
• Senior level, typically 7+ years of experience.
• Certifications: WHIMIS, H2S Awareness, Forklift operation.
• Understands advanced aspects of discipline and is viewed as an expert in a given field.
• Applies broad range of competencies to develop solutions to complex problems.
• Influences others to achieve objectives.
• Often provides specialized/technical/functional guidance to others within department    
•  Self-motivating, organizational skills, and attention to details
•  Strong communication & Leadership skills
•  Data analytics (Excel, SAP, GEP SMART)
•  Diverse learning requirements (process, product knowledge, technology, equipment operation)
