Oil & Gas Warehouse Technician (7/7 camp)

Our client, a major oil and gas producer, is looking for a Warehouse Technician for their location near Fort St. John. The successful candidate will stay in camp on a 7/7 rotation.

The Warehouse Technician will be accountable for the procurement of goods and services for Operations. This position ensures goods and services are purchased in a timely and in the most effective way to minimize delays for operations. This position prioritizes requisitions and achieves the best value for the goods required for work orders and direct order requirements.  Additionally, ensuring materials and supply requirements are available when they are required by the business. The Warehouse Technician role has a strong cross-functional linkage to Operations and Finance. This includes reconciliation of purchase orders for price, quantity and invoicing. 

Position Specific Accountabilities:

The Warehouse Technician I is accountable to the Manager, Supply Chain and Vendor Relations. 
  1. Maintains the fulfillment of operations and maintenance work orders; requisitions by manual input or through computerized methods; prioritizes requisitions for goods and services from the end user.  Ensuring requisitions are aligned to work orders [as applicable].
  2. Forms and issues request for quotes per the PCE procurement matrix.
  3. Analysis of best value completed, and provides purchase order to determined supplier.
  4. Secures proper level of commitment approval for each purchase order.
  5. Determines appropriate transportation methods and coordinates pickup and delivery of materials with trucking, courier companies, and vendors. Ensures appropriate paperwork accompanies each order, such as bills of lading and TDG documents. 
  6. Maintain records of orders and the amount using computerized methods. Issues or transfers materials to work orders.  Appropriate records include requisitions, quotes, and communications from suppliers and end users.
  7. Processes approved revisions to purchase orders.
  8. Consults with department personnel to determine material priorities for work order requirements and to understand 7/28/90 and items with lead times of more than 120days, including but not limited to consumable inventory.
  9. Monitors supplier performance for conformance to order requirements.
  10. Completes Purchase Order reconciliation as identified and as required.
  11. Completes returns of unused items to suppliers ensuring RMAs and credits are processed against original PO.
  12. Coordinates or assists in cycle counting and year end reconciliations.
  13. Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics including reporting against identified organization targets and key metrics, timely analysis of opportunities for improvement and obtaining a high level of internal client satisfaction.
  14. Providing input to the plans and directions of the warehouse and ensuring on-going appropriate relationships with other positions.
  15. Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, and safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.

Information Processing Capability
  1. Accountable for delivering objectives in the 1 day to 3-month time frame. Has the capability to solve problems using information processing capability to achieve 1 day to 3-month objectives.

Skilled Knowledge
  1. Has acquired the following knowledge:
      1. Relevant work experience 3+years in warehousing and/purchasing
      2. Parts knowledge or applicable education in Parts.
      3. Knowledge of purchasing and requisitioning procedures
      4. Knowledge of warehouse fundamentals
      5. Knowledge of WHMIS 2015, MSDS, TDG
  1. Has demonstrated the following technical skills:
  1. Demonstrated experience in practical warehouse setting 3+years)
  2. Ability to prioritize tasks, or seek assistance from supervisor on prioritization, to ensure completion by required timelines
  3. Ability to maintain detailed records
  4. Ability to use an ERP system
  5. Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work of this class
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  7. Valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
  8. Works effectively with all integrated stake holders.
  9. Effective oral and written communication skills
